This is cluster of three snowflakes, captured in January. Big crystal is medium size stellar dendrite, around 4 millimeters from tip to tip. Clusters of snow crystals sometimes looks really nice, but often they form 3-dimensional structure, and we can’t get acceptable image without using focus stacking technique. In this case, however, whole group was flat and perfectly fits in focus in every single shot.
9 shots averaged to boost signal-to-noise ratio. Glass background with LED back light, additional lens Helios 44M-5, January 2016, Moscow.
