Note from Sean: Want a quick and easy remote recording option for interviews or video presentations? Use a lav mic like this one and hide the cord in the subject’s clothing, set the recorder to “Plug-in Power” on the Input Settings screen (to provide power through the Line In port), start recording (adjusting the recording level accordingly), engage the hold switch and place the recorder in your subject’s pocket.
Voilà! You now have high quality voice audio to dub in post processing. I was testing out this exact setup yesterday with the Tascam DR-04, DR-07 and Zoom H2n, all of which sounded pretty good with the Sony mic linked above.
